Jakob Breitwieser

If you had to put him in a box, Jakob would fit best into the Enduro box. No matter whether technically challenging trails in the Alps or rather fast and flowy ones in the Black Forest, the main thing for him is to be out in nature. Relaxed tours or Enduro races, Jakob is in his element. As he does not sit on his bike, he will most likely work on a new – in parts self-ironic – video project. In 2014 already, he was able to establish “High Speed Mountain Hiking” as an alternative approach to “Gusto Riding”.

Originally grown up in Lindau, Jakob lives and studies (for becoming a teacher) in Freiburg today. He even coaches the youth group of the mtb-freiburg e.V. and shares his passion for the sports with his youngsters.

Jakobs 301 MK12

While riding his fork with no more than 20% SAG and thus relatively stiff, the rear damper is tuned for 30% SAG. The rebound overall is tuned relatively fast as Jakob is all into playing with the bike, jumping a lot, etc.
Besides, he rides with a relatively high front, which allows him to keep staying in the center of the bike even in the steepest passages. 34 teeth are sufficient for him in the front so that he keeps being able to compete in races. The tire choice clearly depends on the course and purpose of riding.
